Douglas, from DB Shoes, is a men's extra wide fitting ankle boot a generous 6V width fitting.

Douglas is a classic ankle boot with a stylish and elegant look.

These boots are made to last, with high quality leather uppers and a strong stable outsole. They also have leather lining and leather insoles.

The rounded toe design gives toes plenty of wiggle room, and the 6V fitting creates a deep toe box which will accommodate swelling, bunions and hammertoes.

Comfort is assured with high grade air bubble insoles and a soft padded heel collar. The toe box is seam-free to reduce irritation for sensitive or swollen feet.

Douglas comes with a secondary insole underneath the main insole which can be removed, if required, for additional depth and room (creating an 8E width fitting).

The Douglas has also been designed to accommodate higher insteps.

This boot offers great support for those with ankle problems or other serious foot issues. Overall a fantastic walking boot for everyday wear, or for long weekend walks or urban exploring.

Healthy Footwear Guide approved shoe.

6V Variable Width Fitting Shoes - Adjustable Depth For Swollen Feet

A  6V fitting is an extra-wide fitting, and one of our widest. This fitting offers lots of width and extra depth in the toe area.

A 6V fitting means the fit can be adjusted to increase the depth of the shoe, increasing it from a 6E to an 8E fitting.

Additional depth in a shoe is important for conditions such as hammertoes, bunions, gout and swelling as it stops toes rubbing against the top of the shoe which can cause irritation and discomfort.

A variable fit is recommended for those who may need to adjust the fit over the day or are recovering from a procedure where the foot is swollen as the fit can be reduced as the swelling recedes.

These width fittings are not available on the high street, even at well known wide fitting shops.
