2025 promises to be a great year for those with wide feet looking for comfortable and stylish, extra wide trainers.

There are basically two kinds of trainers, trainers which have been designed for a particular sport such as running, gym work or trekking, and trainers which have been designed to look great paired with jeans at a weekend BBQ or trips around town.

We are pleased to confirm that 2025 looks like it will be a good year, regardless of the kind of wide fit trainers you are looking for.

Why you can trust us:

    • We have been helping customers with wide feet and serious medical foot conditions for over 50 years

    • We deal directly with all the extra wide fit trainer brands in the UK and overseas.

    • We have a physical wide fit shoe shop in London, so we see lots of feet every week and are able to test new styles directly with our customers.

What do extra wide trainer brands have in store for us in 2025?

Lots of trainer and footwear brands offer trainers in a wider fitting. These are typically in an E width fitting. Even popular brands like Pavers, Clarks and Hotter only really go up to a EE fitting.

Our customers usually need a wider fitting than this and are usually looking for an extra wide trainer fitting. They may have naturally very wide feet, or suffer from a foot condition which requires a wider or deeper fit. So we only stock, what we call, the genuine wider fit brands. Brands which include wider widths such as 4E and above. These widths are extra wide and offer the room our customers need.

Established wide fit trainer brands such as Fitville, Skechers, DB Shoes, Cosyfeet and New Balance offer genuine extra wide trainers. Basically widths you won't find on the high street unless you visit a specialist wide fitting shoe shop.

So let's take a look at what each of the major extra wide trainer brands has in store for us in 2025!

Fitville Extra Wide Trainers

We feel the Fitville brand will be one to watch this year. They have only been around for a few years but they already have an impressive line up of extra wide trainers, and are regularly adding new styles and variants into the mix!

We have been given an exclusive peek into the trainer styles they have coming this year, and we are impressed!

Their styles for Spring and Summer 2025 combine a stylish aesthetic with impressive comfort features. They will be launching dedicated wide-fit golf and running shoes in the summer.

We have managed to secure early delivery of some of their expected best sellers. Widths go up to 6E—perfect if you suffer from swollen feet. We recommend securing your pair of their extra wide trainers early, as we expect to sell out quickly.

Skechers Extra Wide Trainers

Skechers is working hard to maintain its hard-fought status as a wide-fit brand leader. It has always been difficult to find Skechers trainers in wider fittings, but we are delighted to have some great contacts at Skechers who ensure we always get early heads-up and order priority.

While Skechers doesn't offer the widest width fittings, we have secured a few styles in a 4E width fitting. Skechers offer wider trainers to cover both the sports and casual market.

Skechers prioritizes comfort and cushioning - and we mean lots of cushioning. Some of our customers love the deep cushioning, others find it too much. It really is a matter of taste.

Some of our 2025 Skecher styles include their popular push-in heels so you don't need to bend down to put them on. Perfect for the lazy and those with mobility issues!

DB Extra Wide Trainers

DB Shoes has been making wide-fit casual trainers for over 20 years, and while some have criticized their style as clunky and uninspiring, we have been pleasantly surprised by their latest collections.

They have realized they cannot rest on their laurels any longer and are putting more effort into the visual appearance of their footwear.

We love that DB Shoes include the widest widths in their range, and while they may not be the most stylish brand, you can rely on them for a great fit and plenty of comfort and cushioning features.

Waldlaufer Extra Wide Trainers

Waldlaufer is a welcome newcomer to the wide-fit market.

They are a popular German brand but relatively unheard of here in the UK.

As you might expect from a German brand, their shoes are extremely well-made, but we have been really impressed with their styling.

Waldlaufer is targeting a younger audience who have wider feet. This section of the wide-fit market has been largely ignored until the last year or two. Manufacturers such as Waldlaufer are finally catching up to the fact that people of all ages have wide feet, and foot conditions such as bunions, hammer toes, and oedema are not limited to the elderly.

Waldlaufer trainers are aimed at the casual wearer rather than the gym bunny, with interesting design features such as side zips for easy access.

  • Waldlaufer offer excellent craftsmanship and quality materials: Waldlaufer are a German brand and the attention to detail is evident in all their new styles. The styling is quite European. We wouldn't be surprised to learn their lead design is Italian!

Cosyfeet are better know for their wide fitting shoes, slippers and winter boots but they still have a few classic extra wide trainer styles which are popular with customers in our wide fit shop.

Designed with classic styling their trainers always look good. Cosyfeet's extra wide trainers come in a 6E fit and have plenty of width and depth to accommodate wide and/or swollen feet.
