Suitable for
Derek has been designed for men with advanced medical foot conditions such as Oedema, severe hammertoes, gout or extremely wide feet.
Derek comes in a 6V fitting, which is extremely wide, but offers an extra deep toe box and a high instep so it can comfortably accommodate swollen feet.
The shoe has a secondary 5mm insole (underneath the main insole), which allows the fit to be customised for maximum comfort.
Derek is made to a very high standard and has soft, high-grade leather uppers, with a padded heel collar for additional comfort. It is also leather lined with a leather insock.
The cushioned in-socks can be removed for the insertion of your own orthotic devices or custom insoles or to increase the depth and room inside the shoe.
Derek is also an excellent choice for those who have Diabetes.
The toe box is seam-free and has a soft padded collar to prevent rubbing against the ankle bone.
The shoe is lightweight, and the sole has built-in shock absorbency.
Healthy Footwear Guide Approved.

This model is a 6V width fitting.
A 6V fitting is an extra-wide fitting, and one of our widest. This fitting offers lots of width and extra depth in the toe area.
A 6V fitting means the fit can be adjusted to increase the depth of the shoe, increasing it from a 6E to an 8E fitting.
Additional depth in a shoe is important for conditions such as hammertoes, bunions, gout and swelling as it stops toes rubbing against the top of the shoe which can cause irritation and discomfort.
A variable fit is recommended for those who may need to adjust the fit over the day or are recovering from a procedure where the foot is swollen as the fit can be reduced as the swelling recedes.
These width fittings are not available on the high street, even at well known wide fitting shops.
